“We have been involved with Dungannon Tennis Academy for a number of years now and our children have really enjoyed the coaching from Andrew. His sessions are fun, energetic and inclusive, culminating in a fun tournament in term 3!” – Stephen Mone, Principal, Roan St Patrick’s PS

Primary Schools

My coaching classes are designed to introduce young children to the wonderful game of tennis. Lessons can be taken indoors in the school hall or outside in the playground. I supply nets which means that courts can be set up anywhere.

Primary school pupils respond better to play/game teaching techniques as opposed to the more traditional tennis teaching method of stroke mechanics and points.

The number of weeks that a coaching programme lasts is 100% flexible to fit in with the schedule at your school. Throughout the coaching programme pupils will cover all aspects of tennis from the forehand all the way through to the serve using equipment and methods suitable for their age.

Competition

Every May I run a competition day for all of the primary schools who have hosted after schools clubs during the year.  The format of the competition is a mixed doubles team event and school teams will be made up of 3 boys and 3 girls (P5-P7).

Secondary Schools

Secondary school coaching can follow two formats. The first is introductory classes aimed at pupils who would like to learn to play tennis. The second format is aimed at school teams and also advanced players who would like to prepare for competitions. I am able to accommodate both coaching formats depending on the needs of your school.

Lessons normally take place during games periods at your school courts.
